Odour Control
When water gets stuck in a place with no way out and it remains there for an extended period of time it can be very dangerous. For one it can become a breeding ground for mosquitoes and other pests and also it smells really, really bad! Like we continuously say just getting rid of the water and making sure everything is dry doesn’t mean that all of your problems are over. Same things go for fire and smoke damages. Sometimes those odours can penetrate the walls and floors literally and stick around for a lot longer than the water itself did! If you already tried spraying some form of odour repellent and nothing seems to be working give us a call.
Make Sure There Is Ventilation In The Area This may seem like a simple enough solution, in these situations though we are probably going to need more than one idea to make sure that those bad odours stay away. A lot of times they tend to remain in a place just based on the fact that the area remains closed of and no fresh air is able to make its way in. Since water seems to also usually stick around in enclosed spaces the issues can get really serious really quickly. Doing your best to make sure that you have at least some type of air current running through is a good start. Chemical Treatment Step two would actually be applying some form of chemical treatment to the affected area or areas. This is especially the case in things like carpets and other types of floors that can also be helping to keep all of those odours trapped in. There are numerous types of chemicals that we could use to try and solve this type of issue. So there is really no sense in naming them all and boring you to death. Just know that we will choose the best option available to tackle your current issue. Odours Are Usually Indicators Of Something Else We can’t fully rule out the possibility that if odours remain it may be because there are other issues below the surface that we may not see yet. Our best bet here is to do an exploration of the area. This may include removing some floors or carpets. For the most part, we will try to make sure that we can do this by obviously not having to tear down your entire home. Sometimes though we may recommend a bit of an extensive renovation. A Quick Reaction Could Mean A Quick Solution Most of the times when people give us a call the odour problem has clearly escalated to point where it is actually unbearable. Also, when they have tried all of the types of treatments that they can find at the store. This usually means that when we come in we will have to dig a bit deeper to find the true nature of the problem. A bad smell can be a sign of something big call us and make sure you can rule a bigger issue out quickly! |
